Greater Noida / Jewar, March 2026 – The Yamuna Expressway Industrial Development Authority (YEIDA) has recorded 54 new industrial unit registrations and approximately 700 lease deed executions over the past twelve months, driven almost entirely by anticipation of the Noida International Airport at Jewar. YEIDA has successfully allotted 65 industrial plots over the past year, generating ₹2,200 crore in revenue through various industrial initiatives, including the medical device park in Sector 28. In FY 2025-26, YEIDA acquired 2,700 acres of land from farmers for ₹4,856 crore to accommodate new companies and development projects spending approximately ₹500 crore per month on land purchases between April 2025 and January 2026. At least 52 industrial units in Yamuna City are set to begin operations as YEIDA transitions from land allotment to production, a shift that marks the corridor’s graduation from an investment story to an active economic zone.
An Entire Industrial Ecosystem Taking Form
The scale of YEIDA’s current build-out is without precedent for any pre-operational airport zone in India. Five specialised industrial parks covering 600 acres are under development, catering to electric vehicles, plastic processing, handicrafts, footwear, and transport logistics. A medical device park in Sector 28 is being prepared to manufacture equipment for Ukraine and CIS countries, with GE Healthcare, Japan’s Olympus, Sweden’s Elekta, and Siemens Healthineers all in advanced discussions about establishing manufacturing facilities.
The anchor investment for the zone is the recently approved ₹3,706 crore semiconductor manufacturing plant, a joint venture between HCL and Foxconn in Jewar, projected to generate more than 31,000 jobs. Microsoft has committed ₹1,800 crore to the region, targeting at least 3,000 direct employment positions. A 750-acre fintech hub is proposed in Sector 11, while Sector 8D is being developed as a dedicated logistics and warehousing hub directly adjacent to the airport.
Beyond its 52 existing sectors, YEIDA has 46 new sectors in the pipeline under its Master Plan 2041, ensuring that the land absorption currently underway reflects only the first wave of a multi-decade development arc.
Connectivity: The Infrastructure Case for Investment
The Jewar corridor’s investment thesis is underpinned by a multi-modal transport network being assembled simultaneously with the industrial build-out. YEIDA has approved a 120-metre-wide, 74.3 km expressway linking the airport directly to the Ganga Expressway, facilitating seamless travel between Meerut and Prayagraj. A 31 km greenfield expressway will connect the airport to the Delhi-Mumbai Expressway. The Yamuna Expressway already provides direct access to Delhi and Agra, while the Greater Noida–Noida Airport Metro and the 71.1 km Ghaziabad-Jewar RRTS are both at advanced planning stages together creating one of the most connected industrial corridors in northern India.
