MakeMyTrip Partners with Minor Hotels to Expand International Luxury Hotel Access for Indian Travellers

Indian travellers booking international stays through MakeMyTrip will now have access to a significantly wider range of premium properties following a new strategic tie-up with global hospitality group Minor Hotels. The partnership adds over 560 properties across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East to the platform’s direct inventory covering city hotels, resorts, and long-stay options under Minor Hotels’ established brand portfolio. Around 60 Minor Hotels properties are already live on MakeMyTrip, with a phased rollout planned to bring the group’s full global portfolio onto the platform. The move reflects a deliberate push by MakeMyTrip to deepen its direct hotel inventory for outbound Indian travellers rather than relying on third-party aggregators.

What the Partnership Covers

The tie-up gives MakeMyTrip users access to Minor Hotels’ diverse brand lineup, which spans upscale and luxury segments across multiple continents. The portfolio includes city business hotels suited to corporate travellers as well as leisure resorts and long-stay serviced options catering to a broad spectrum of Indian outbound travel preferences. Properties span high-demand destinations across Southeast Asia, the Middle East, and Europe, regions that consistently rank among the top international travel corridors for Indian passport holders.

Why This Matters for Indian Outbound Travel

Demand for international travel among Indian consumers has grown sharply post-pandemic, with outbound bookings consistently outpacing pre-2020 levels. MakeMyTrip’s strategy of building direct partnerships with global hotel groups rather than sourcing inventory through OTA intermediaries is aimed at improving pricing competitiveness and inventory reliability for users booking overseas stays. Direct tie-ups also typically allow platforms to surface better rate parity and exclusive inventory, which benefits the end traveller. The gradual expansion of Minor Hotels’ full 560-plus property catalogue onto the platform means availability will continue to improve over the coming months.

What It Means for Travellers and Property Enthusiasts

For general travellers, the partnership widens the choice of bookable international properties on a familiar domestic platform without the need to switch to foreign booking engines. For the hospitality-aware reader including those who follow branded residences, serviced apartments, and hotel-linked real estate, Minor Hotels’ portfolio is worth noting.

The group operates several branded residence and mixed-use hospitality developments globally, and its expanded presence on Indian booking platforms signals growing brand recognition among Indian consumers, which has historically preceded residential product launches targeting NRI and HNI buyers in key markets.
